Fans Is Dead.

We tried.
All we could come up with was ideas that wouldn't get us anywhere... it's time to face it, unless the members want this site to work, we won't have it. With barely 10 posts a day, that's enough to get us to KOF dead. I'm willing to try if you are. Post here if you want Fans alive and will help with the effort.

If you don't, then just leave.

You're overreacting, just because there isn't 507,000 posts per day doesn't mean a forum is dead

I really don't see any problem currently, more members equals more bullshit, and right now with a few notable exceptions our userbase is pretty good

And I don't see the site as active at all. I don't think I'm overreacting. Look at forums like the FOF-FF and similar forums. With hundreds of posts per day (Not on topic all the time, but posts nonetheless), they are pretty active and thriving. I don't see that when I come here.

I know we have good members. We just don't have the content that brings them back. And the summer vacation doesn't help

Ktown, we will NEVER be even CLOSE to being as active as FOF-FF. But that doesn't mean we're dead. FOF-FF has way over 9000 times the amount of members we have here, but size doesn't really show the activeness of a community. Seriously, right now I see two active threads and all my posts are beings responded to within five minutes. I call that active.

I have realized that Fans hasn't been as active, but thats not even close to being dead. People will start posting more soon.

I disagree with you there Bran. It was mostly like that before, and look how much of a clusterfuck they were.

Also, I don't think Fans is dead. Even FOF-FF goes quieter during the summer, and that's a known fact.

Give it a few weeks, we'll be more active again.

I am disappointed.

Seeing as how I've been making the most posts for the past month or so, I do not feel obligated to talk in this thread anymore.

If some people think it's dead, you have to look at these facts:

When you make a forum that was originally the same as another forum (eg. Fans and FOF-FF) it won't get more people, because the other one was there first. If I made a forum about the Xbox 360, I would get like no members, because the Xbox.com forum has it all.

What I am saying is this could have been the wrong move from the beginning. Maybe this forum needs a bigger turn around then I thought. Maybe we need a new topic to be based around, because this is another "FOF-FF clone." The only thing different here is the community.

Maybe we just need a new beginning, like our own ideas. Our own thing. Our new thing that can bring people back, and people in.

we need something appealing, we need a new topic, not all this "Fans on Fire" stuff.

I'm really fine with where we are now. I don't really want some kind of massive user bas where nobody knows who is who. I like it better like this. I wouldn't change a thing really.
