Debate of Maximum Importance #3

A man is offered $500 a month for the rest of his life. He is also offered $2,500 a month, but it will only last for 20 years. This man has just turned 18. Based on the fact that he can only choose one, which would be the smarter investment?

Tough call,
$2,500\month for 20 years = $600,000
$500\month based on an 80 year (-18 years) lifespan is $372,000

Personally I would take the 500 per month just because it's constant income as long as i live.

If you held down a steady job, that $500 a month would be REAL nice. I'd take that, seeing as when I'm 40, I'd like to have that with me still.

I'd take the $2,500. Just because I wanna be different from you two.
